In our seventh class, we worked with pastels again, but this time the instructor had more time to introduce and demonstrate how to use them. I still struggled, but at least I had more of an idea of how to at least try to use them.
What I had not considered, however, is that the pastels rub off on the opposite page, so most of my drawings are now covered with smudges from the drawing on the opposite page. Since I only took a photo of one pastel sketch early on, it is the only “relatively clean” photo of a sketch done with pastels. After that, I started to draw only on one side of each page.
I used pencil after the break. I’ll leave learning to use pastels to some time in the future.
