My art journey

I call myself a Life Artist, in contrast to a “real artist”.

That is, I use my imagination, creativity, and skills to create something meaningful and beautiful, but the something I’m creating is my own unique life history.

Along the way, of course, I keep creating various artifacts, which seems to be what’s expected of a real artist.

In 2020, I unexpectedly (to me) found myself returning to a more traditional art from my childhood… drawing. I loved to draw as a child, mostly cartoons, but as I grew into my teenage years, I lost patience with my lack of skill and took up photography instead.

When I stopped working to earn my living, I found I had plenty of time and a desire to fill it with something fun. I decided to teach myself to draw (albeit with the help of others whenever possible).

Here I capture some of my current progress to date.
