In our fifth class, we were introduced to the idea of using cylinders and boxes to represent volume in the figure. Although it was challenging, I liked this approach, because it freed me from the frustration I often felt when my quick sketches did not look like the figure I was looking at.

I still struggled to figure out how to rotate the boxes and cylinders appropriately, though I could see how practicing this could help build an intuitive sense that would help in quickly understanding a pose.
