Koksy

I hired Koksy as a Croquis model. She was the first traveling photo model that agreed to work with me for sketching, though she had never done this sort of modeling before.

Happily, once we got underway, she found that she liked it. She has a very playful personality and by our third session enjoyed attempting to pose in ways that were quite challenging for my limited skills!

I really enjoyed doing my best to capture her beauty and doing so helped me improve.

After she posted a few of my sketches on her IG feed, she said she started getting requests from others who wanted to sketch her, so I may have opened a new market for her modeling business.

I initially booked her for two separate sessions on adjoining days, and before she left Copenhagen, we arranged for a third.

During her third session, she asked me to draw her boyfriend, who had commented that he’d like someone to draw him, and offered to let me photograph her in exchange.

This, I suppose, was my first engagement as a “professional artist” and I was quite flattered!

They are both Ukrainians, so he cannot leave the country due to the war. At some point, the plan is to arrange for me to draw him online, but we have not set this up as I write.

October 2024

Koksy was only the second model I hired to do Croquis sketches privately. I still had a lot to learn, and that shows in my sketches. I proudly show all that we did together, however, as a testament to my progress.

The numbers at the bottom of each page indicate the page/sketch sequence number and the number of minutes that Koksy held each pose as I sketched (so 2m means the sketch took 2 minutes).
