Aja
When I began taking pictures of women again, I saw some work with ballet dancers. I was entranced with the grace and beauty of that work, and thereafter, working with a ballet dancer became one of my ambitions. When I saw Aja’s profile, I was very interested in working with her. Aja is from Canada but had worked in Denmark for a year and was living in Germany when I met her.
Through her, I learned that the ballet world is not necessarily what I had imagined, though this did not actually come up on our first day working together.
I had learned about traveling with models shortly before I met Aja, and she agreed to a trip to Portugal together to make pictures there. I had hoped to take pictures in Lisbon, but for various reasons, we mostly shot in the AirBnB I rented.
