I visited Ukraine about 30 times between 2006 and 2018.
I have many Russian and Ukrainian friends and they are warm, welcoming, and open people. After visiting Crimea, I had begun to learn Russian, thinking that I might travel more in both countries.
Sadly, Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 and of course, the situation has only deteriorated. It is devastating to see what has been done as a result of Putin’s actions.
