Morocco

I visited Morocco the first time with Lee Frost’s Photo Adventures, after I had been to Cuba with Lee.

This gallery collects my pictures of the place. To read about my experience and see the titles I’ve given each picture, visit the trip page.

As with Cuba, Morocco is great for taking pictures of people too, although be careful! You need permission first, and expect to pay for the privilege.

I learned so much from attending multiple trips with Lee. With that knowledge, I was able to start traveling solo, or with a single other person, which I prefer.

I returned to Morocco in 2018, but the focus there was taking pictures of Nicola, so I only have one picture to show here from that visit.

My first Flickr Explore(d) photo

When I first joined Flickr, I would look through the Flickr Explore page for inspiration.

I quietly made it an ambition to have a picture included on that page. It happened with my picture of the camel from Morocco. A fellow photographer on the trip who saw me take the picture mentioned that I was seconds from having my camera licked, as I my wide angle lens was nearly touching the camel’s whiskers.

Seeing my picture on Explore felt like having achieved a life goal. I was irrationally over-the-top proud of myself. I later learned that Flickr users refer to this as “having a photo explored”. It brings a lot of attention to those chosen.
