Naya
Naya introduced me to the idea of traveling with a model. Being naive, I just did not think that this would be possible.
During our first photo shoot together, she mentioned offhand that she had travelled with one of the Russian photographers I really like. When I wide-eyed asked if she might be willing to travel with me some day, she laughed and said she’d have to check with her husband.
As it happens, he visited Denmark with her and their 2 year old son later that year. He arrived separately and I picked him up at the airport and gave him a ride to their AirBnB. He was a photographer as well and had taken many of the impressive pictures in Naya’s portfolio.
After I had met him, he OK’d the trip. Naya and I met in Italy and travelled to various beautiful locations together.
It took a while to set up, though, so by the time I travelled with her, I had already travelled with multiple other models.
It turns out that models like to have a photographer around when they travel!
